Kate Beckinsale turns 50 this summer and, with the milestone, comes the undeniable realization that the actress has successfully cracked the code on looking ageless. But she’s not keeping it a secret: Via Instagram comments to her fans (and foes), the actress shared what she’s done, what she hasn’t done, and what she still wants to try when it comes to aesthetics.
“How much surgery now?” asked one commenter on her Cannes Festival post for the Pot au Feu premiere—which was met with a “Wow!” by Katie Couric. To which Beckinsale cheekily replied: “Still none…oh wait, appendix.”
As the commenters debated, she continued to reply and even got into specifics when pressed on getting a facelift.
“I haven’t sorry…maybe in July everything will start falling off lol…no threads no threadlift no Botox no laser no nose job no filler,” she continued in the comments. “I do have facials with PRP to boost collagen and microcurrent for skin tightening and oxygen. I probably would try laser but I’m a bit scared. Haven’t so far.”
In a second post, Beckinsale shared proof of her anti-aging powers via a 30-year throwback from her Cannes’ appearance in 1993 for Much Ado About Nothing—all while getting into the hilarious details on her wardrobe malfunction.
“So my mum DID find one of the original Cannes pictures but unfortunately it’s not full length so you can’t see the Dr Martens. Fun fact though: I had bought the bodysuit in the Sock Shop at the airport and when I got in the car to drive to the premiere with Denzel and Pauletta Washington, all the poppers in the crotch popped themselves open and it flipped up like a roller blind . I didn’t feel it was appropriate to go delving around in my undercarriage with all of us in the back of the car so I just quietly panicked. Walked out onto the biggest red carpet of my life and whispered to Keanu and Robert Sean Leonard what had happened. In this picture I am holding the front gusset down and the two of them are holding the back gusset. Absolute legends who may not even have fully understood the physics of what was happening or even heard the word ‘gusset’ before, but both jumped in to save me no questions asked.”
