Why This New Skin-Care Brand Is Based on Consistency

It takes 66 days to form a habit, studies show, and that’s where Community Sixty-Six gets both its name and inspiration. The skin-care line was conceptualized by its founder, Dia Foley, while she was reading Atomic Habits. It’s rooted in forming healthy, minimalistic skin-care rituals. Foley has formulated beloved skin-care products for decades, including The INKEY List.

When Foley was approached to start her own line, she tried to find a gap in the current offerings since there is an abundance of skin-care lines out there. Community Sixty-Six is minimalist, easy-to-use, affordable, packed with superstar ingredients and coming to a Sephora near you on July 5.

Community Sixty-Six marks a return to focusing on skin types rather than skin concerns. Foley formulated cleansers and moisturizers for dry, oily and combination skin, so there’s something for everyone. Additionally, the line boasts Resurfacing Night Cream with retinol ($35), Hydrating Eye Cream ($18) and Everyday Mineral Moisturizer SPF ($30).

“Complicated routines can compromise your skin’s natural barrier and can be more harmful than beneficial,” a statement from the brand says, which is why this line is pared down and easy to use. Foley suggests that the simpler the routine, the more likely we are to stick to it. “There’s so much more to life than spending your time being a bathroom chemist.”
