Taylor Simone Ledward’s Heartfelt Golden Globe Acceptance Speech On Behalf Of Late Husband Chadwick Boseman Is A Tearjerker

Chadwick Boseman’s widow accepted her late husband’s Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama on Sunday. Taylor Simone Ledward, through tears, accepted the honor for Boseman’s riveting portrayal of Levee Green in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

In her speech, Ledward delivered the words she thought her husband would say if he were still living.

“He would thank God, he would thank his parents, he would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices,” she said. “He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice inside of us that tells us all to keep going.”

Ledward’s moving speech during the Gloden Globe Awards garnered support, praise and love from Boseman’s fans on Twitter.

Boseman passed away after a lengthy battle with colon cancer in August 2020, as Black Enterprise previously reported.
