A runway show at China Fashion Week in Beijing. China Fashion Week
Beijing’s China Fashion Week kicked off on March 24 and will run until March 31, featuring 64 brands showcasing their 2021 autumn winter collections. The calendar includes a total of more than 300 events including fashion competitions, trade shows and industry forums.
Traditional Chinese heritage and craftsmanship will be highlighted by labels such as Chuyan, Heaven Gaia and Grace Chen, all brands that incorporate traditional weaving and dyeing, embroidery or Kesi into their contemporary designs.
Designers from 16 countries and regions including Malaysia, Mongolia, India, Japan, Australia and Canada will take part, and to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, the organisers have invited 14 Pakistani designers to showcase their works. There’s also an online platform for South Korean brands, through which nearly 50 South Korean fashion and beauty enterprises will be able to link up with Chinese buyers.
In recent years, the protection of intellectual property has been one of China Fashion Week’s focal points and the China Fashion Industry Intellectual Property Conference will also be held during the event.
