“We are hoping that our event will be the right platform for designers. It will not only help showcase a lot of creativity but also give more business to designers,” said FDCI chairman Sunil Sethi, Apparel Resources reported. “FDCI has leaped forward and created a distinct space for the Indian design repertoire, and the partnership with LFW only makes it more robust.”

The Fashion Design Council of India and Lakme Fashion Week joined forces during the pandemic and amalgamated their individual design programmes and contents into a joint phygital showcase. Following the success of its joint editions in 2022, the organisations aim to make 2023 an even bigger year.

The Fashion Design Council of India has launched applications for its design contest: NEXA presents ‘The Spotlight’, the organisation announced on Facebook. The initiative is, “a one of its kind program that allows you to showcase your collection in the form of an immersive fashion presentation,” the Fashion Design Council of India wrote. The winning designer will be awarded Rs 5 Lakh towards the showcase.
