Fall Fashion Trends To Get Excited About

Fall 2022 is shaping up to be an amazing season.

We’re already getting hints that there will be a blend of the athleisure-inspired comfort that has continued to grow in the Zoom era with polished designs and cuts.

We chatted with Heidi Watson, the fashion director at EVEREVE, a contemporary fashion retailer with 100+ brick and mortar stores, an online store and a fast-growing subscription box service, to discuss more details on the trends we can expect in the coming months.

70’s Inspired Denim

“The evolution of denim silhouettes continues with the return of the 70’s silhouette. This time around, there is a variety of styles for every body type and occasion. The most important detail? Width. From a subtle bootcut, to a wide leg trouser jean to a full-on flare, these jeans are known for their leg lengthening power. We love this trend paired back to anything from an oversized button down to a casual tee. Note-lean into their flattering fit by tucking in your top and throwing on a shoe with a heel (a bootie for day or heel for night).”

Vegan Leather

“Looking to add a little edge to your everyday? Welcome vegan leather into your wardrobe. Pants, tops dresses and five pocket jean styles are all taking a dive into this trend. Not just a night out silhouette, this fabric can be worked easily into your closet with the right pairing. Keep it casual with a vegan trouser paired back to an easy sweater and sneaker or go all out with a statement making vegan top and your favorite jeans. Bonus? This year, color extends beyond black, so look for rich caramel, wine and even cream tones.”

The Trouser

“The easiest way to upgrade your look is to add a trouser into the mix. This is not your little black work pant though. This is a chic, classic pant with a nipped in waist and a more fluid leg. It is versatile (dress it up or down), should be full length (calling all long-limbed women out there–this is the trend you have been waiting for) and is sure to be the most worn piece in your closet. Traveling this fall? These are a suitcase must.”

The Blazer

“Following in the footsteps of its refined partner the trouser, the blazer is the go–to layer for fall. Instantly elevating, this is a trend with staying power. This season, look for traditional menswear patterns like houndstooth and plaids, but if this is your first go–round, black is fool-proof. Not just office bound, layer the blazer over a fitted top for a flattering silhouette, pop on your favorite jean and 1-2-3 outfit complete.”

WesternBoot

“The Western Boot trend has been slowly emerging over the past year and has become a force for fall 2022. The key to this trend is to trend these boots like any other bootie in your closet. You don’t need a plaid shirt and a pair of straight leg jeans to make this trend work (although we love that look too). Details like a pointed toe and stacked heel to define this silhouette. are great. Ankle height reigns and a variety of colors from cognac to black are particularly versatile. Tuck your skinny jeans in, pull your flares over or mix it up with a dress or skirt.”
