These Swimwear Brands Launched Activewear… And They Know What They’re Doing

If there’s one type of clothing that needs to fit well it’s swim. Sure activewear and underwear also rank high up there, but nothing needs to fit as well as swim – especially in this age of everything ending up on social media in seconds (boob popping out? Bottom floating away? No thank you!).

With that in mind it makes perfect sense that some of the best activewear launched recently comes our way from brands best known for their swimwear.

Here’s a look at some of the standout brands.

L*Space

Everyone knows L*Space for their swimwear, but they actually also make resort wear, hats and accessories and, as of last year, they make some of our favorite activewear. The brand is based in California and the state’s signature cheery vibe shines bright in their beautifully made pieces.

Solid & Striped

If you’re looking for activewear that’s guaranteed to hold you in, in all the key places (even if it’s cut like the style above) while looking fashion-forward, checkout Solid & Striped. It’s also available in a wide size range – from XXS to XXL.

Frankies Bikinis

Frankies Bikinis won’t be for everyone, but if you’re looking to push the envelope with your activewear (think Lolita vibes), this is the brand to checkout.

Love & Sports

Love & Sports is a Walmart exclusive meaning it’s very affordable. Unlike the other brands on this list it didn’t start in the swim category and branch out to active, but rather launched both categories in tandem just recently. The quality isn’t as top notch as an L*Space or Solid & Striped (i.e. you might have to pull up the leggings a few times if you’re doing an intense workout with a lot of jumping/sprinting), but it’s about as stylish as it gets for the low price. The brand was created in partnership with fashion designer Michelle Smith (of Milly fame) and Soulcycle’s Stacey Griffith.

WeWoreWhat

WeWoreWhat’s ever-expanding activewear collection is a great place to look for season-less staples in classic, neutral shades as well as in of-the-moment ones, like green.
