Amber Heard Cannot Afford The Money She Owes Johnny Depp Due To Trial Loss

The weeks long trial of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp finally came to an end recently, with the jury reaching a decision in favor of the Pirates of Caribbean star. The jury slapped Amber Heard with $10 million worth of compensatory damages and $5 million worth of  punitive damages which was later changed by the judge to $350,000, which was the maximum penalty allowed for punitive damages.

In a recent interview, Amber’s legal team has revealed that the Aquaman actress definitely cannot afford the money which she now owes Captain Jack Sparrow. The total charges come up to roughly $10.4 million while Amber’s total estimated net worth is a mere estimated $1.5 to $2.5 million.

Amber definitely owes a big sum to her current legal team, who were actually a substitute to an earlier legal team which Heard couldn’t afford after a while. But that is not the only reason why Heard is experiencing financial troubles. According to a member of Heard’s legal team, the actress has been living unnecessarily lavishly for years spending huge sums on her travels, cars, clothes and even wines.

It has been revealed that the expensive legal team that Heard hired, she paid for using her homeowner’s insurance policy. It is a little known fact that most homeowner insurance policies, provide coverage if an individual is sued for defamation based on how much they pay through coverage, as revealed by a Pennsylvania Trial Attorney. However, despite covering her legal battle, the insurance policy will not be covering the damages that Amber Heard is liable to pay now.

This dilemma of higher demand and lower supply can be covered in two ways, according to legal experts. Johnny Depp can make collections from Heard’s income, if she has a salaried job. The other is much uglier, as Johnny Depp can potentially, seize Amber’s asset and sell them for the money that she owes him.

Either way, financial future is starting to look bleak for the actress.

Johnny Depp on the other hand was relieved and very happy to hear the court’s decision, thanking the jury for, in his own words, “giving me my life back.”
